Class B motorhome or camper van retail showed no change in December and ended the full year with a 15.3% decline compared to 2010 totals, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).
For the 12 months, Roadtrek Motorhomes Inc. was the leader in Class B sales, owning a 47.3% market share, while fellow Canadian builder Pleasure-Way Industries Ltd. was second with a 23.7% share.
Thor Industries Inc. was the top U.S. manufacturer through December, holding the No. 3 slot with a 17% market share.
In the December report SSI noted: “The states of Minnesota, Maine are delayed and the data will be put into the correct months once we receive it. The states of Colorado,Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio and Oklahoma had unusually low volumes last year which resulted in higher percentage this year.”
