RVDA of Canada to Hold Advocacy Days in April
This year’s Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association of Canada (RVDAC) “Advocacy Days” will take place in Ottawa April 23–24.
According to a press release, invitations are extended to all members of Parliament and senior staff to attend a reception and to meet with the RVDAC president, board members, dealers and campground representatives the following day.
At both the reception and the Tuesday meetings, RVDAC will highlight RV industry issues and concerns, including cross-border shopping and tourism initiatives. A total of 30 to 40 meetings will have been scheduled with Parliament members and other government officials and agencies.
Packages with information on RVDA of Canada (RVDAC), the importance of RVing to Canada’s tourism industry and top RV industry concerns will be presented. The reception and meetings are non-partisan, ensuring that, while government may change hands, a relationship exists at all times with government representatives.
RVDAC noted that “these efforts do not mean that the importance of grassroots lobbying has diminished in any way.” Constituent contacts are still the most effective way to communicate opposition or support of an issue.
RVDAC will search for the member who has a strong personal relationship with each senator and member of Parliament. If the person agrees to the responsibilities of the position, he or she would be appointed a Parliamentary Partner.
Members interested in becoming a Parliamentary Partner should contact Eleonore Hamm at (604) 718-6325 or e-mail email@example.com for an application form.
