The future meets the past next month when the RV/MH Hall of Fame hosts the Midwest RV Super Show. According to a report by the Elkhart Truth, the three-day show begins Aug. 9 and organizers hope they’ve found a permanent home at the hall.
Like the industry itself, the show is still in the rebuilding mode after a dreadful recession that hit Elkhart especially hard. Three years ago, the show took a hiatus. During the past two years, it was held in downtown Elkhart. Now, organizers look forward to capitalize on the hall’s proximity to the Indiana Toll Road.
During the past two years, attendance has been between 2,500 and 4,000 people.
“That location might be a little more visible, so we’re hoping to beat those numbers,” said Mark Bowersox, the show’s director who works for the Indiana Manufactured Housing Association and Recreational Vehicle Indiana Council. “It should grow to be a destination event again.”
