300 Protest City’s Plan to Permit RVs on Beach

About 300 protesters, carrying signs and chanting in unison, walked the Wildwood, N.J., boardwalk between Saturday (July 28) to fight a city plan to allow recreational vehicles on the beach. “No RVs on our beach, no RVs,” chanted protesters, many of whom own condominiums at the nearby Wildwood Ocean Towers, the Press of Atlantic City reported. Rental firm Cruise America announced that it recently took delivery on its 30,000th Class C motorhome, acquired over its 40 years of operation. According to a press release, the Mesa, Ariz.-based company has 4,000 Ford-powered rental recreational vehicles operating throughout the United States and Canada. TriMas Corp. Reporting Record Revenues in 2Q

Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based TriMas Corp. reported record second quarter net sales of $338.4 million, an increase of 17.5% as compared to $288.1 million in second quarter 2011. Winnebago Wins Ban Against Brand Name Use

Winnebago Industries Inc. won a court decision that will prohibit Knott Investments Pty Ltd. from using the Winnebago name in Australia as it has been doing for at least 30 years. Bloomberg reported that Federal Court of Australia Justice Lindsay Foster ruled that Knott founder Bruce Binns “intentionally hijacked the Winnebago marks in Australia in a bold attempt to preempt Winnebago’s opening its doors here.” Foster gave Forest City, Iowa-based Winnebago and Knott until Aug. 13 to propose... Read more

RV Comfort Systems Boosts Electric Furnace

RV Comfort Systems has upgraded its “Stand-A-Lone” all-electric forced air furnace to operate with a high voltage blower, according to a press release. With the new upgrade, the unit no longer needs a 12-VDC supply from a converter to run the blower side of the furnace.
