Winnebago Vista Leads Ultra-Affordable Wave

Considering the nature of the North American economy and RV market right now, it’s probably not a surprise to see a wave of new ultra-affordable motorhomes – like Jayco Inc.’s new Redhawk Class C and Roadtrek’s Ranger RT Class B — taking center stage in this fall’s new 2013 model debuts. And one of the most visible in the early fall shows is Winnebago Industries Inc.’s 26- to 35-foot 2013 Vista Class A. Winnebago District Sales Manager Bob Amonitti, contacted during the Pennsylvania RV & Camping Association’s (PRVCA) recent record-setting Hershey Show, tells RVBUSINESS.com that a Ford-based Vista and its Itasca Sunstar companion line have become pace setters for the Forest City, Iowa-based motorhome manufacturer in recent months. And why not? Winnebago is promoting a 26-footer, complete with a fiberglass roof, walk-around queen bed, large slideout upfront and his-and-her wardrobes, for less than many C-bodies at $69,999. “It’s (the Vista/Sunstar) a huge strength,” said Amonitti. “In our Class A gas lineup, the (Winnebago) Vista and (Itasca) Sunstar series make up the most volume for Winnebago Industries right now.”

Having a ‘glass roof is great. It has saved us many hours of maintenance and stays leakproof as long as you keep up with the Dicor sealant on any visible cracks or gaps.

Option of a diesel engine would be nice.
