Oregon-based Guaranty Discount Chevrolet and RV Super Centers is collecting food for Junction City Local Aid while fueling the rivalry between University of Oregon and Oregon State University rivalry.
According to a press release, team-colored collection barrels will be set up at Guaranty’s Motorized Showcase at in Junction City to accept donations.
“We’ve always embraced, even encouraged, a healthy rivalry between our Duck and Beaver fans,” said said Shannon Nill, general manager of Guaranty RV Super Centers. “When we can take our enthusiasm for these outstanding local teams to a level that actually elevates the community we love, we know we’re living life right.”
The food drive will run through Nov. 21. Monetary donations to Junction City Local Aid can also be made for the purpose of providing turkeys and whole chickens for Christmas boxes.
Junction City Local Aid has been helping those in need since 1945 with basic needs assistance.
“We are a United Way agency, however, the majority of our financial support comes from local donations,” said Susan Jones, executive director of Junction City Local Aid. “Junction City Local Aid is thankful to have Guaranty partner with us in helping those in need in our community.”
