RVB/Blue Ox Survey: Predicting ’13 Business?
Headlines over the past few months have heralded good news for the RV industry’s ongoing 2012 recovery, the consistency and strength of which have surprised many in the RV arena after the ups and downs of the past few years. This industry has gone from an impressive high of 390,500 wholesale shipments in 2006 to a recessionary low of 165,700 in 2009 and now back up to a likely 2012 projected total of 273,600.
RV manufacturers, dealers and suppliers at industry trade events including PRVCA’s Hershey Show, Elkhart’s 5th Annual RV Open House Week, RVDA’s Con/Expo and RVIA’s California RV Show have been sending a similar message: That the show crowds are robust and that business has often exceeded expectations.
On the brink of the 50th Annual National RV Trade Show, Nov. 27-29 in Louisville, Ky., Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) President Richard Curtin was forecasting modest 1% growth to 275,300 units for 2013. But we want to know what you think in the next round of the RVB/Blue Ox all-industry survey. So, here’s the question:
What are the Industry’s Prospects for 2013, Based on This Sector’s Strong Performance Throughout 2012?
