Clem Giancola, founder and longtime owner of Clem’s RV and Trailer Sales, passed away Dec. 29. He was 82. Giancola started the Ellwood City, Pa., dealership in 1964, selling Coachmen brand RVs. RVIA: YOY November Shipments Improve 25%

Recreational vehicle wholesale shipments to retailers in November were reported at 20,561 units, up 25.2% from the same month a year ago. On a seasonally adjusted basis, November’s total represented an annual rate of more than 360,000 units, an increase of nearly 10% over the previous month and ahead of November last year by 26.1%. Report: Firm Interested in Utilimaster Complex

The year started out with a blow to Wakarusa, Ind., with Utilimaster Corp. announcing a move to Bristol. But, according to a report in the Elkhart Truth, 2013 may make up for it with another company anonymously thinking about taking over the full complex. Winnebago Industries Inc. hit a 52-week high of $16.94 per share following its impressive fiscal first-quarter report on Dec. 20, according to Winnebago also achieved a Zacks No. 1 Rank (Strong Buy) based on strong earnings estimate revisions. U.S. consumers peering over the “fiscal cliff” don’t like what they see. The Associated Press reported that fears of sharp tax increases and government spending cuts set to take effect next week sent consumer confidence tumbling in December to its lowest level since August.
