Coachmen’s Pursuit A-Body Hits ‘C’ Price Point

Coachmen RV, a division of Forest River Inc., has launched the affordable Pursuit by Mirada Class A gas-powered motorhome, positioned to compete with used units, Class C motorhomes and ultra-competitively priced Class A’s. ”It’s less money than most Class A’s and it’s more at a price point of a mini-motorhome,” said Dave Miller, general manager of Coachmen’s Class A plant in Middlebury, Ind., adding that the Pursuit retails for just under $100,000 and “perhaps less in today’s competitive market.” Built on an 18,000-pound GVWR Ford Super Duty chassis, the Pursuit by Mirada is available in 29- and 31-foot floorplans with colored fiberglass sidewalls and equipped with a one-piece windshield and substantial exterior storage. Features include an electric awning, convertible U-shaped dinette, sofa bed, electric drop-down bunk over the cockpit, a large galley countertop, broom closet and double-bowl stainless-steel sink. “While it’s entry-level, it’s still a clear step above ultra-low end,” says Miller. ”You have a lot of features at an inexpensive price.” Also new for 2013 from Coachmen RV is a new Prism 24G Class C motorhome on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis featuring solid surface countertops, glazed hardwood cabinetry, full LED lighting and a powered roof hatch; luxury light-weight Chaparral Signature Series fifth-wheels with Corian counters, light-weight Azdel panels and vacuum-bonded aluminum-framed sidewalls and floors.
