CrossRoads RV took a creative approach as the Topeka, Ind.-based builder revamped the all-new Rushmore fifth-wheel. Among Rushmore’s six floorplans is the 39-foot, five-slide Lincoln – a front living room layout featuring the industry’s first Ultra-View windshield in the front cap. ”It was a complete redo,” said Brad Whitehead, product manager for CrossRoad’s luxury fifth-wheel division. ”We really wanted to separate ourselves and set Rushmore apart in a product segment where there seems to be very little variation. We wanted to bring something to the table that’s truly different, something that will actually impact the end user’s experience.” Available in lengths of 34 to 39 feet, the Rushmore design team introduced another industry first by super-sizing the bedroom, making it a comfortable living area with two opposing sliderooms in the main sleeping quarters in all six floorplans. “All of our bedrooms are significantly bigger,” Whitehead said, ”making it one of Rushmore’s many signature features.” Besides the additional bed slide, the master suite also features an entertainment/vanity slideout with a standard 32-inch HD TV and hidden storage. Rushmore, with retail prices in the low to mid-$60,000 range, also features a two-tone black-and-tan exterior with standard partial paint, hung fiberglass with four-season insulation and standard dual 8-cubic-foot double-door refrigerator/freezers.
