The Elkhart City Council approved a rezoning Monday night for MOR/Ryde International that will assist the company with expansion plans.

According to a report by The Elkhart Truth, the council voted to support a recommendation from the plan commission to rezone several parcels along Moyer Avenue from residential to manufacturing. The M2 classification is considered light industrial.

The zoning change was sought by MOR/Ryde, which is planning a 36,000-square-foot expansion, according to Eric Trotter, the city planner.
