Fire at Keller Marine & RV; Firm Remains Open
A raging fire destroyed a large warehouse Friday (March 22) at distributor Keller Marine & RV in Port Trevorton, Pa., but a company official said the business is “up and running.”
The Patriot-News reported that the blaze, discovered about 8:30 a.m., sent flames and black smoke into the sky. It took firefighters from Snyder, Perry, Northumberland and Union counties nearly four hours to contain the fire. No one was reported injured including those working on the roof when the fire broke out.
Although contents of the building were destroyed, co-owner Lori Morrow said the business has six other warehouses so it should be business as usual Monday. The office and computers are in a separate building, she said.
Morrow praised the work of the firefighters and members of the community who along with customers offered their help. The destroyed warehouse will be rebuilt, she said.
The company, which employs about 50, services 1,000 independent marine and RV dealers in the Mid-Atlantic and New England states. Morrow’s brother, Michael T. Keller, is the other co-owner of the business that was founded in 1957.
