Wisconsin RV Sales Rebound from Recession

Although unemployment remains stubbornly high, sales of travel trailers and motorhomes have rebounded to some of their strongest levels in six years as consumers feel more confident about their personal wealth. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that in Wisconsin, there were 6,100 travel trailers sold in 2012, the highest amount since 2007, according to Statistical Surveys Inc., a Grand Rapids, Mich., firm that tracks sales in the recreational vehicle and recreational marine industries. FRVTA Regional Shows Draw Strong Numbers

The Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) just completed its sixth regional show at venues throughout the state and reported that attendance numbers have been strong, according to a press release. A roundup of show results includes: • The Fort Myers RV Show, celebrating its 28th year, featured 17 dealers from all along the Gulf Coast along with well over 100 vendors. The 2012-2013 Michigan Association of Recreational Vehicles & Campgrounds (MARVAC) show season wrapped up this past weekend with all five shows posting the highest consumer attendance in years. According to a press release, the show season began on a strong note with the Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show up 30% in visitors, and RV dealers optimistic for the upcoming year. Winnebago 2Q Sales Up 35% as Demand Rises

Benefiting from heightened motorhome demand driven by an improving economic environment, Winnebago Industries Inc. swung to a profit in its fiscal second quarter on a 34.6% gain in revenue. Sales for the second quarter, ended March 2, totaled $177.2 million versus $131.6 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2012. Thor Completes Headquarters Move to Elkhart

Thor Industries Inc. Wednesday (March 27) announced that it has completed the planned move of its corporate headquarters to Beardsley Avenue along the St. Joseph River in downtown Elkhart, Ind. KOA University Offers Training to New Owners

Kampgrounds of America Inc (KOA) graduated 39 new KOA owners representing 23 campgrounds during two sessions in February and March at its KOA University in Billings, Mont.
