MTRV Resumes Employee Longevity Program
Multilocation dealer Mike Thompson RV announced that it would reinstate an internal longevity program recognizing the company’s most valuable workers. According to a press release, the initiative is “designed to encourage and reward long-term employees.”
California-based Mike Thompson RV noted that the program was discontinued in 2008 during the recession period while the company, like many other RV dealers, had no choice but to “cut costs in order to preserve the company and its future.”
At a recent luncheon held to celebrate Mike Thompson RV staff members with five or more years of employment, owners Frank and Donna DeGelas, personally thanked every worker. “The past few years have been interesting to say the least,” said Frank DeGelas. “Economic challenges did not allow for many consumers to consider a larger purchase of an RV. Anyone on staff at Mike Thompson RV for five years or longer has been extremely loyal and stood beside us through some pretty tough times. We are proud and delighted to now be in a position to bring back the program that honors and recognizes our long term family.”
The luncheon awarded 59 employees who held positions at the dealership for terms ranging from five years to one worker with over 35 years. Each employee received a cash award and recognition plaque. Those with 25 or more years also received a mantle clock.
