RVUSA.com, a division of NetSource Media, reported that its recently launched SpecBase “auto-fill” feature that plugs in vital information for RVs on sale online has received positive feedback from dealers.
The feature, which integrates with the management console, allows dealers the option to list specifications for the unit based on the year, model and floorplan, including MSRP, length, chassis, engine, tank capacities and weight. An exterior stock photo and a floorplan image are also included.
“It’s nice to be able to put in pictures so quickly instead of having to wait until I have time to go outside and take them,” said Su Fiske of Ocean RV Center in New Jersey.
RVUSA has this data available for most RV manufacturers from 2008 forward. The company stated, “Not only does this save the dealer time, but it removes the guesswork which results in a very accurate listing.” Dealers are still required to fill in unique fields like stock number, price and description.
“Creating a unique description for every RV is something we have been encouraging our dealers to do for a long time,” said Cindy Spencer, who has been with RVUSA since 1999. “In addition to verbally ‘showing’ the potential buyer what the RV has to offer, search engines love unique content with relevant keywords and phrases. Having the same description as your competitor isn’t going to do you any good in the search engines or make you stand out to your website visitors.”
