MCD Conducts Training for Shade Installation
Technicians from a number of RV dealer and renovation companies attended MCD Innovation’s latest training session for cockpit installation on May 9 at the company’s headquarters in McKinney, Texas.
According to a press release, an intensive three-day course provided technicians the opportunity to properly measure and install MCD Day/Night Shade Systems in RV windshield, cockpit and living areas.
“We limited the class size so we could offer the best one-on-one training possible,” said training organizer Peggy Grich. Extensive classroom instruction, as well as hands-on retrofit sessions working side-by-side with MCD factory installation technicians, helped the trainees better understand how the various shade components are engineered to function harmoniously together.
Dealerships represented included: Coachlight RV, Carthage, Mo.; Russ Dean RV, Pasco, Wash.; Motorhomes of Texas, Nacogdoches, Texas; Apache RV, Las Vegas; Cordova’s Mobile RV service, Moriarty, N.M., and Kingman, Texas; and Lazydays, Seffner, Fla. The company reported that 30 dealers from coast to coast that have had MCD training.
Travis Townsley, senior RV market manager, noted, “MCD was the first in the industry to provide a motorized windshield day/night roller shade system incorporating a dual-range motor that provides secondary stop points to allow the shades to be used as a full-width side-to-side visor while driving.” In addition to motorized windshield shades, any window in a Class A, Class B, Class C motorhome or fifth-wheel and travel trailer may be retrofitted with MCD manual shades or remote-controlled power shades.
