The co-owner of an Pataskala, Ohio, RV dealership plans to rebuild after a massive fire left his business in ruins Thursday (July 25) night. The fire was primarily centered in the dealership’s service facility.
WSYX TV reported that 16 fire departments were required to extinguish the three-alarm blaze that started at approximately 8:30 p.m. at RCD RV Supercenter in Berlin Township, near Sunbury.
Ohio State Fire Marshall Larry Flowers visited the dealership on Friday to assist local investigators with interviews of witnesses and employees.
Co-owner Brad Haire plans to reopen the family owned business, but will wait to begin the rebuilding process until the fire’s cause is determined by investigators.
“We will just take it one day at a time and let the experts determine what caused the fire, and then get a contractor in here,” Haire said.
On its website, the dealership stated that sales staff will continue showing units and that its facility in Hebron would be able to handle service needs.
The fire does not appear to have been set intentionally, according to Berlin Township Fire Chief William Bechstein.
