Jayco Inc. announced today (July 18) that Director of Marketing Sid Johnson will be stepping down from his full-time position, effective Aug. 5. According to a news release, Chuck Lasley will replace Johnson, assuming the role of vice president of corporate marketing.
Lasley has served for over two years as a regional sales manager for Jayco’s motorized division. He joined the Middlebury, Ind.-based company after an 18-year career with major industry publications, including Trailer Life and MotorHome.
Jayco said that Johnson, who has logged more than 20 years as a member of Jayco’s management team, will continue to work on a part-time basis for several months.
“Sid plans to retire from his day-to-day involvement with the company,” said Jayco COO Jim Jacobs. “The interim period will give Chuck and Sid enough time to ensure a smooth and thorough transition.”
In addition to his duties with Jayco, Johnson has served in many capacities with the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), including chairman of the Market Information Committee from 2006 to 2011. He was also a member of the Go RVing Coalition and Seasonal Camping Committee, and received RVIA’s Special Award in 2011. Prior to joining Jayco, Johnson was a marketing executive with Coachmen Industries Inc.

Chuck’s knowledge and experience will be a significant benefit as we continue to build the Jayco name in the years ahead.”
