Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales increased 18.9% in May while registrations rose 7.2% for the first five months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.
Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 26.6% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (25.5%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (11.8%).
Class A registrations declined 9.7% in May from the year prior and 7.2% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the five months with a 24.5% market share, ahead of Fleetwood RV Inc. (15.9%), Forest River (13.9%) and Winnebago (12.9%).
In the Class C segment, May sales surged 39.3% from a year ago and 19% for the five months. Forest River held the top spot year-to-date with a 34.8% market share followed by Thor (26.2%). Forest River’s Coachmen RV division and Jayco Inc. were tied for the No. 3 spot with 11.8% market share.
