Twenty-five years ago, Stag-Parkway Inc. held the company’s first national trade show in San Antonio, Texas. Through the years, that event has evolved into a leading aftermarket trade show for the RV industry, offering a combination of relevant training, networking and product exposure that creates exceptional value for the independent dealer community and suppliers, according to a press release.
The announcement at the company’s show in Texas last January that San Juan, Puerto Rico, would be the destination for the 2014 show has generated an unprecedented level of excitement among dealers and suppliers alike. Stag has seen a nearly 50% increase in the number of suppliers committed to participating in San Juan as compared to the same time last year in the run up to San Antonio. Stag has already received commitments from nearly as many suppliers as participated in San Antonio, and expects to see the pace of signups remain steady leading up to the deadline on Oct. 15.
The Atlanta-based distributor said that dealers are equally enthusiastic as many have increased their purchasing activity early in the selling season to ensure they achieve a level of sales needed to guarantee their attendance, reported Martin Street, president and CEO.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to our customers and exhibitors,” he said. “Not only is Puerto Rico an attractive destination with first rate facilities and the appeal of a Caribbean island, but it also provides the ease of travel you’d experience going to any American location — no passport needed, U.S. currency and an English-speaking population. ”
“Driving Success 2014″ kicks off Jan. 13 with RV University, a day of comprehensive retail training through PRO (professional retail organization) seminars and supplier-led product training focused on the hottest RV products from top brands in the industry.
During the two days following that training, dealers will visit supplier booths to access the best in product knowledge and pricing. The evening of Jan. 14, all attendees will dance and mingle under the stars while sampling the finest in island cuisine at The Party in Paradise, co-sponsored by Blue Ox. The final day of the show will open with a sit-down breakfast and motivational keynote from Dakota Meyer, the youngest living Medal of Honor recipient and the first living U.S. Marine to be so honored in 38 years.
“Each year, we bring exceptional educational and networking opportunities to the attendees at our show along with the opportunity to purchase product at really great prices,” said Street. “In addition, we always look for a destination that offers activities for people to enjoy outside the hours of our show and I believe San Juan will more than fit the bill. Clearly our dealers and suppliers agree with the choice and are looking forward to a different venue from that which we and other distributors normally offer.”
Dealer registration begins Aug. 30 and dealers interested in attending should contact their Stag-Parkway sales consultant for more details.
