Elkhart Plastic Extrusion Firm to Add 30 Workers
A plastics extrusion company based in Elkhart, Ind., that works closely with the recreational vehicle industry has accepted a property tax incentive that will help the business expand and add 30 employees.
The Elkhart Truth reported that the Elkhart County Council approved a six-year property tax phase-in Saturday, Aug. 10, for Lifetime Industries Inc., a company doing business as Boyd Corp. The company plans to add 39,300 square feet to its 79,000-square-foot plant built in 2006 in Elkhart. The real estate investment is estimated at $1.6 million.
Tom Hayward, general manager at the plant, told the county council in July that the company has been growing rapidly. Boyd Corp. is part of a conglomerate with a manufacturing facility in Elkhart that caters to the RV industry. Hayward told the council that the expansion would allow the company to begin working with other industries, including aerospace, automotive, medical and electronics.
