The next Trouble Shooter Clinic from the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) will take place in Calgary, Canada, Nov. 4-7, according to a press release. Technicians will have a choice of three learning tracks and the chance to earn as many as 32 continuing education credit hours. The cost includes lunch and daily coffee breaks.

The clinics have been redesigned to include more hands-on training, smaller class sizes and increased class times. The clinic is not a certification preparation course. The skills learned will help prepare participants to take the test or gain continuing education credits needed for re-certification, but the instructors do not teach to the test.

The tracks are: Power Source; Running Gear, Hydraulics, Slide-outs & Towing; and Appliances. Testing in any of these areas is separate and available to participants after completing the training and signing up online.

Technicians can apply  online. Prerequisites are outlined in the Trouble Shooter Clinic brochure, but RVIA does grant exceptions on a case-by-case basis to technicians who may have appropriate experience or training. To register, go to the RVIA website.

Testing for certification is a separate event. Technicians must submit a separate registration application and fee to RVDA in order to take any of the RV Technician Certification Tests offered by RVDA/RVIA .
