RVIA & HGTV Partners for ’14 RV Product Show

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) is now working with producers of HGTV’s annual RV special, which has premiered on New Year’s Day for the past 13 years, for the 2014 edition of the program, which has been the cable networks highest rated special for the past several years. Ten Indicted on Midwest Vehicle Fraud Scheme

Ten people have been charged in a Midwestern vehicle financing fraud scheme, according to federal prosecutors. A former suburban Chicago motorcycle and RV dealer and his accountant were indicted Wednesday (Aug. 28) on charges that they bilked about 20 lenders out of more than $56 million, the Chicago Daily Herald reported. The North American Trailer Dealers Association (NATDA) is setting new records  selling out 292,000 square feet of show space for the 6th Annual NATDA Trade Show & Convention, slated to run Sept. 5-7 in St. Louis. Don Abel, 66, Led Franklin Coach Co.’s Rebirth

Don Abel Donald E. Abel, owner of Nappanee, Ind.-based Franklin Coach Co., died Tuesday (Aug. 27) at Elkhart General Hospital. He was 66. Abel’s father, Paul, founded the company in 1945 and was considered a pioneer in the RV industry. Franklin Coach, a travel trailer, fifth-wheel and park model manufacturer, was in the headlines after an F-3 tornado leveled four of the company’s manufacturing buildings in October of 2007.
