Bristol, Ind.-based Augusta RV sponsored the 6th Annual Patriot Day Golf Outing held at the Brookwood Golf Course in Buchanan, Mich., on Sept. 2. According to a press release, the golf outings are held across the U.S. in conjunction with the Fold of Honor Foundation over the Labor Day weekend.

Augusta RV reported that the event raised $4.3 million dollars nationwide. All proceeds from the events go toward college costs for sons and daughters of service personnel who gave their lives while honoring and serving our great country.

“This event is personal to me,” said Augusta RV General Manager/Owner Brian Weaver, who served in the United States Air Force in both Saudi Arabia and Turkey. “There is no higher cause than supporting our troops and their families.”

National Sales Manager/Owner Leif Freehafer also served in the military with the United States Marine Corp. Both were honored to participate in the affair.

Augusta RV is also preparing to welcome the dealers from across the country at the 2013 Elkhart RV Open House, Sept. 17-19.  The company’s exhibit will be located on the corner of Executive Parkway and Independence Drive, next to the RV/MH Hall of Fame.

During the Open House, Augusta TV will unveil its new AF34RS fifth-wheel and will be serving up hot Starbucks coffee and locally made, nationally known “Rise and Roll” doughnuts every morning. On Monday night, starting at 5 p.m., they will be serving grilled steaks, shrimp and fish prepared by local celebrity restaurant owner and chef Paul Cataldo, along with a full bar and live music.
