Fleetwood Enjoys Sales Rise for ’14 Discovery

Decatur, Ind.-based motorhome builder Fleetwood RV Inc. reported increasing success with the refresh of its flagship diesel, the Discovery.

With more than 12,000 coaches on the road today, the Discovery brand continues to “set trends with its distinct design and innovative features that set it apart from other diesels,” according to a press release. Resulting from the recent launch of the Discovery 40E model, the brand is experiencing increased demand and a reported 30% sales increase in comparison to last year.
“The Discovery brand has been a trendsetter within the Class A diesel category since 1996,” states Kyle McCrary, senior vice president, product planning and design at Fleetwood. “The new 40E floorplan combined with the many added amenities and the complete re-styling for 2014, set the stage for Fleetwood to achieve additional growth in the diesel category.”
The 2014 Discovery sports new front and rear caps offering a redesign and employing LED accent and running lights. Interiors feature massive high-gloss porcelain tile hand-laid in a diamond-patterned throughout the coach.  Another added upgrade for 2014 is the dashboard and automotive cockpit design featuring soft-touch materials and integrated burl wood accents.
Great for entertaining, the full-wall slide Discovery 40E features a spacious galley design, an over-the-top pantry with a swing-out shelving unit, exquisite hardwood valances and trim, glass tile backsplash and enough countertop space for an impressive party spread. With contemporary interior décor throughout, this RV features two incliners plus a residential style L-shaped sofa which transforms into a queen bed.
The living area offers a credenza equipped with TV slide that showcases the Sony 46-inch LED TV. With the touch of a button, the TV elevates out from the slide for a perfect viewing angle.
The Discovery’s residential-like bedroom features a king bed plus ample his-and-her mirrored wardrobe storage, and large linen and storage space.  The full-size bathroom includes an oversized fiberglass shower with shower seat, while guests will enjoy using the half-bath located at mid-coach.
Consumers on the East Coast have an opportunity to see the new Discovery lineup at the this week’s Pennsylvania RV & Camping (PRVCA) Show in Hershey, Pa.
