Look for a slew of new floorplans from Thor Motor Coach during next week’s Elkhart County RV Open House, including a fourth floorplan — the 40-foot 40GQ — in the Tuscany XTE diesel pusher series which has a completely new look inside and out for 2014.
The single-axle Tuscany XTE, built on a Freightliner XCR chassis with a 360-hp ISB diesel engine, has a new front cap with vertical headlights and LED accents along with a redesigned rear cap featuring larger taillights and an integrated halogen docking light for backing up in low-light situations.
With a $268,000 base MSRP, the Tuscany XTE cockpit also has been redesigned and the interior reworked with new decors, upgraded two-tone furniture and king-size Denver mattress.
Thor also has introduced the Miramar, a new all-gas brand built on a 22,000-pound GVWR Ford F-53 chassis equipped with a 362-hp Triton V10 engine.
“The Miramar is a ‘couples coach’ intended to be used more than a couple of weekends a year,” Jon Krider, Thor Motor Coach director of marketing, told RVBUSINESS.com.
The Miramar, with MSRPs from $138,775 to $141,000, debuts with four 32- to 35-foot floorplans with up to three slideouts, each of which can be equipped with an optional dropdown bed over the cockpit.
Krider said that Thor Motor Coach expects heavy traffic during the Open House. “It’s going to be better this year in the past,” Krider said. “We are bringing 15 or 16 new floorplans, product lines and innovations.”
