Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales increased 19.9% in August while registrations rose 11.4% for the first eight months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.
Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 27% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (22.8%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (12.1%).
Class A registrations edged up 3.9% in August from a year ago and 0.6% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the eight months with a 24.6% market share, ahead of Fleetwood RV Inc. (15%). Forest River was No. 3, garnering a 14.4% share, followed by Winnebago at 13.6%.
In the Class C segment, August sales surged 43.7% from a year ago and were up 21.2% for the eight months. Forest River held the top spot year-to-date with a 36.4% market share followed by Thor (21.5%) and Forest River’s Coachmen RV division (13.3%).
