VIDEO 2: ‘Black Book’ Reports Wholesale Gains
This month’s “Beggs Black Book” video offers an analysis of the wholesale specialty vehicle market. Motorhome and towable values rebounded nicely, after their unexpected drop two months ago. Motorhomes came in at an average selling price at auction of $39,534, representing a $3,635, or 10%, increase from last month’s $35,899. In fact, auction values are actually up $322 over figures from two months ago. Towables, including travel trailers, fifth-wheels and camping trailers rose 9.6% to $11,200, an increase of $982 from the previous month. Towable values are down a slight $47 from two months ago. For historical reference, one year ago the average motorhome sold for $43,918 at auction, and the average towable was $9,813. “Black Book” noted that the big swings in auction prices did not really reflect a dramatically changing market, but rather a difference in the mix of vehicles that were offered for sale. Ricky Beggs covers towable and motorized RVs, along with heavy-duty trucks, motorcycles/powersports and collectible cars.
