Aspen Campers, Wood Dale, Ill., announced the introduction of its 2014 Classic lightweight camper that houses a king size bed and a large independent cargo bay under the mattress.
According to a press release, the camper targets the big bike, trike and compact car markets, and can be set up in one minute. Aspen said the camper weighs in at under 350 pounds with only 24 pounds of tongue weight. New for 2014 are additional tent color options, split window design and an 8-inch pan-rolled front room floor.
Cargo may be stored and accessed in two ways:
• While on-the-road, the top of the camper can be lifted, exposing the entire cargo bay.
• After camper is set up, simply lift the concealed cargo door under the mattress.
Aspen said the Classic is the only lightweight camper that includes a basement level in the cargo bay with a fiberglass body situated between the camper’s main frame and the highway.
The Aspen Classic sports 12-inch wheels on a 41-inch wheelbase with brakes offered as an option, providing “superb handling” at highway speeds.
When closed, the camper body only measures 47 inches by 72 inches, making handling at campsite and setup extremely easy.
