Tapping into growing demand for larger fifth-wheel toy haulers, Heartland Recreational Vehicles LLC is launching its first triple-axle, full-profile, 43-foot 380 floorplan in its Torque product line that creates a new price point in the segment.
“Consumers are migrating toward larger units for the increased living space, however the larger units can be very expensive,” said Product Manager A.J. Jones in a press release, noting that the 380 is based on a top-selling proven floorplan in Heartland’s Cyclone brand. “We have engineered a triple-axle toy hauler that is nearly $25,000 less MSRP than anything else in the marketplace while still providing RVers with a well-appointed, functional floorplan.”
Coley Brady, vice president of sales for Elkhart, Ind.-based Heartland, added, “The Torque 380 represents an incredible value for our dealers. It gives them a set-apart product in one of the industry’s hottest sectors at a price that will draw even more RVers into the market.”
Carrying an MSRP in the high $50,000’s, the aluminum-and-fiberglass, triple-slide Torque 380 offers a layout that adds a half-bathroom in a 12-foot garage area that can also function as usable living space.
“Toy haulers have evolved into one of the most versatile RV types in the marketplace,” Jones said. “People are using them for much more than just haulers. Diversity is the key, and the 380 offers an unobstructed garage that can easily be converted into another room.”
Amenities include a residential one-piece sunken bathtub, panoramic windows on the door side, spacious kitchen with expanded countertop space, residential Lauren Ashley furniture and opposing seating in the living area.
“We are aggressively attacking this price point in the toy hauler market,” Brady said. “Essentially, Heartland is developing an all-new segment with the Torque 380, giving our dealers another profit piece to put on their lots.”
Heartland will be displaying the Torque 380 at the Dec. 3-5 51st National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky., in Booth No. 1400 as part of the Thor Industries Inc. exhibit.
