Park model being auctioned for KOA Care Camps

A deluxe park model cabin is being auctioned at eBay in support of Kampground of America Inc.’s (KOA) Care Camps. According to a press release, proceeds will help send children with cancer to specialized summer camps to safely experience the joy of camping. The auction begins Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. and will end Nov. 23 at 4 pm.

Donated by Stone Canyon Cabins & Park Models, the custom-built 33-foot-by-12-foot cabin has a list price of over $30,000. KOA said the winning bid has to be above $20,000. The entire selling price, with no fees, will go to the KOA Care Camps, which allows “these amazing children to enjoy the joy, healing and freedom that comes from attending specialized summer camps where they can just be themselves,” KOA said.

A nonrefundable 10% deposit of the winning bid payable to KOA Care Camps will be due at auction’s end with the balance in full required prior to delivery. The winning bidder will have the option of selecting the exterior color combinations.

The winning bidder will also be responsible for paying the freight from Stone Canyon’s factory in Brilliant, Ala., to the buyer’s destination. The charge per mile will be approximately $4.50. The cabin will be ready for delivery by Dec. 15.
