Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales increased 22.6% in September while registrations rose 12.5% for the first nine months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.
Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 26.2% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (22.3%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (12.6%).
Class A registrations gained 14.5% in September from a year ago and 2.3% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the nine months with a 23.8% market share, ahead of Fleetwood RV Inc. (15.1%). Forest River was No. 3, garnering a 14.2% share, followed by Winnebago at 14.1%.
In the Class C segment, September sales surged 35.8% from a year ago and were up 22.1% for the nine months. Forest River held the top spot year-to-date with a 35.7% market share followed by Thor (21.2%). Forest River’s Coachmen RV division and Jayco Inc. both posted a 13.4% share.
