New Hampshire-based Campers Inn today (Dec. 2) announced the the acquisition of Rivers RV in Jacksonville, Fla., according to a press release. With the addition of Rivers RV, Campers Inn now operates seven locations across the East Coast.
Rivers RV, with more than 35 years of operation, is situated on a 20-acre lot equipped with a delivery camp area, 14-bay service department, fully stocked RV parts department and body shop.
Jeff Hirsch, Campers Inn’s owner and CEO, stated, “Rivers RV is simply a great fit for Campers Inn. We have perfect alignment in both our family oriented cultures and our core values. When (owner) Larry Schaffer indicated his desire to see his company sold we were able to reach an agreement in just three weeks. Working with Larry in helping with the next phase of his life has been an absolute pleasure, and we intend to make Larry proud.”
Schaffer added, “I wanted to ensure that Rivers RV partnered with the right company. Campers Inn is that company and I know that their organization will ensure that Rivers RV will strengthen and grow to better serve this great market.”
Hirsch noted that Campers Inn will remain in acquisition mode heading into 2014. “Campers Inn will continue to seek out expansion opportunities,” said Hirsch. “As we know, up until now there has not been a lot of choice for these RV pioneers’ when making the decision to retire or leave the industry, and we believe we will serve the industry well with choice.”
Rivers RV is expected to be rebranded as Campers Inn of Jacksonville — with an associated job fair — in January.
