Kansas Oil Boom Town Easing RV Restrictions
The city of McPherson, Kan., approved an ordinance allowing those owning RV and temporary house trailer camps to receive a temporary camp license.
A temporary camp license, which a camp owner will apply for in writing at the municipal building, allows a number of temporary changes to city code in regard to temporary trailer or RV housing, the McPherson Sentinel reported.
Up to three trailers or RVs will be able to connect to a single sewer connection as opposed to the regular zoning requirement of one, and the hookup price will be lowered from $550 to $375.
One hundred and twenty four gallon liquid petroleum gas tanks will be allowed as well, rather than the 50 gallon tanks required by regular code.
The changes came about due to an influx of oil workers to the central-Kansas community.
