A Nova Scotia RV dealer is wondering why his recreational vehicle company was targeted after a weekend fire completely destroyed four trailers and may have damaged two others, according to a report by the Cape Breton Post.

“Someone came in and burnt my trailers — that’s all I really know,” said Scott MacKenzie, the owner of Celtic Creek RV Sales, which has only been open since last year. “Why would someone do this?”

The trailers were located in the front part of the lot at Hillside Trailer Services on the Trans-Canada Highway.

On Saturday at 3 a.m., the Florence Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the blaze, which was called in when a neighbor heard the propane tanks from the recreational vehicles exploding. In addition to the trailers, there was also some damage to the Hillside Trailer Services building, caused by the heat from the fire.

MacKenzie is convinced his trailers were targeted since only his new stock was damaged by the fire. There were other trailers on site that belonged to customers who had them in for service or over-winter storage and none of those were affected.
