Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales increased 13.6% in November while registrations rose 12% for the first 11 months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.
Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 25.2% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (21.8%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (13%). The Forest River Group, which includes its Coachmen RV division in a “consolidated” report by Statistical Surveys, held a 36.6% share.
Class A registrations were up 9.7% in November from a year ago and 2.7% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 in the category for the 11 months with a 23.2% market share, ahead of Fleetwood RV Inc. (15%). Winnebago was No. 3, garnering a 14.4% share, followed by Forest River at 13.8%.
In the Class C segment, November sales climbed 23.1% from a year ago and were up 21.5% for the 11 months. Forest River held the top spot year-to-date with a 35% market share followed by Thor (20.7%). Coachmen RV posted a 13.8% share while Jayco Inc. held a 13.6% share.
