St. Louis RV, Travel Show Holding 37th Edition
Ice, snow and freezing temperatures make it hard to get in the mood for RV traveling, so the Midwest Gateway RV Dealers Association is here to help.
According to a report in the News-Democrat, the association will sponsor the 37th running of the St. Louis RV Vacation and Travel Show this weekend at America’s Center in downtown St. Louis.
Dealers from Illinois and Missouri will display nearly 300 RVs, including motor homes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, sport-utility trailers, van campers, folding camping trailers and truck campers.
“The idea is to show people their new products, but they try to have some fun with it,” said spokesman Karen Somers, noting this year’s theme is “Going Places.”
“There will be representatives of both destinations and resorts,” she said. “So you can get information about different places to go.”
RV travel videographer John Holod will be back by popular demand with his Roads to Adventure films, covering Route 66 and trips to Alaska, the Rocky Mountains, the Southeast coast, Gulf Coast and Northeast coast to Newfoundland.
J.D. Overstreet, a regional sales manager for the Dealers Resource Group, will give talks on RV products related to safety, towing, satellite and antennas.
“One thing that’s new this year, we’re going to showcase Missouri authors (who write about travel in the state),” Somers said.
That includes Jo Schaper on “Springs are More than Puddles for Trout,” Ross Malone on “Things that Make Missouri Unique” and Don Corrigan on “Must See Nature Spots in the Midwest.”
