Within a couple of years, Kurt Morris, 56, and his wife, Anna, 45, plan to sell their home, buy a motor home and pursue their avid travel interests, the Erie (Pa.) Times-News reported.

The Youngstown, Ohio, couple attended the opening day of the Erie RV Show Thursday (Feb. 6) at the Bayfront Convention Center with their plan in mind.

They gravitated to a 2014 Winnebago Adventurer Class A motorhome — a 37-foot 9-inch head-turning home on wheels.

Its sticker price: $186,179. But it can be purchased at the four-day show for $149,995.

“That’s a dream of mine, rolling down the highway, listening to that engine hum,” Kurt Morris said as he sat on a sofa inside the unit.

The motorhome is one of 17 show units on display by Ray Wakley’s Car Care & RV Center in North East.

The four-day show, which features three regional RV dealers, concludes Sunday.

The Morrises normally attend RV shows in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit and Columbus, Ohio. They saw an online advertisement for the Erie show last week and decided to make their first visit to the annual consumer show.

“We plan to upgrade, but I don’t know if it will be this year,” Kurt Morris said. “We have a 35-foot-long fifth-wheel that’s about 15 years old, and I’m just getting tired of pulling it.”

Show attendees can check out the newest models in campers, travel trailers, RVs, motor homes, fifth-wheels, all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles, plus information on regional campgrounds and travel parks.

“This is truly a cabin fever event, with the way the weather has been and as cold as it’s been,” said show organizer Mark Concilla of Erie Promotions. “The campgrounds are popular. People can come out and look at where they can enjoy the summer.”
