Portable Sanitation Firm to Build Indiana Plant
Plans by a global supplier of portable sanitation equipment to construct a new manufacturing and warehouse facility in Bristol, Ind., took a big step following a meeting of the Elkhart County Plan Commission.
The Goshen News reported that commission members approved a request by developers that would allow Satellite Industries Inc., which makes portable toilets, service trucks, restroom trailers and other sanitation products, to move forward with plans to build a 106,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on a 22-acre campus.
“Indiana has always attracted us due to its central location to a majority of the U.S. population, easy access off main interstates, a manufacturing oriented workforce and competitive wages and tax incentives,” John Babcock, CFO of Satellite, said in an announcement. “The specific location we selected is in the heart of the RV and trailer manufacturing, which compliments the product lines that we manufacture.”
According to a recent announcement by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the Minneapolis-based company plans to invest $6.9 million over several years to establish distribution and manufacturing operations in Indiana.
