Visiting the Feb. 14-17 Springfield (Mass.) RV, Camping & Outdoor Show on the grounds of the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield is almost like taking a vacation without stepping outside the fairgrounds, MassLive.com reported.

At the popular show “vacationers” can find exhibits by many major RV dealers who offer a wide range of equipment from basic pop-up tent trailers to luxury RVs, as well as campgrounds and dozens of outdoor equipment and camping specialty suppliers – more than 270 in several buildings on the fairgrounds.

“We average about 36,000 attendees each year, many of whom don’t just return for a second day, but some of whom attend all four days of our show. Camping is popular because it’s inexpensive fun for the whole family. RVs are hotels on wheels and because they are considered a second home, many people make them a tax write-off,” said event chair Phil Nadeau.

“What has made our show unique for the past 52 years is that it is totally run by volunteers,” Nadeau said.
