RVIA Reviews 2014 Standards at ‘SAM’ Meeting
The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) Standards Department hosted the State Administrators Meeting (SAM) in February in Portland, Ore., as the association continues the review process for the upcoming 2014 RV standards code changes.
Representatives from the three states (Nebraska, Oregon and Washington) that continue to maintain RV standards programs and from third-party listing agencies (IAMPO, Intertek and QAI) along with members of RVIA’s Standards Steering Committee reviewed upcoming changes to the NFPA 112, ANSI Low-Voltage Standard and the National Electrical Code.
“Our goal was achieved in that the state agencies discussed and agreed with the 2014 program enforcement positions recommended by RVIA,” said Kent Perkins, RVIA’s senior director of RV standards. “These positions will be outlined in our 2014 Handbook enforcement pages that will be available this coming April.”
