Tiffin Touting 45-Foot Allegro Bus at RV Shows

Working shows in much the same way as he always has, Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. President Bob Tiffin has been holding court at an array of winter retail shows – and drawing a steady stream of prospective buyers – in an elegant Allegro Bus 45 LP diesel pusher Class A motorhome. The new bath-and-a-half coach is built on Tiffin’s proprietary 45-foot, 51,300-pound GVWR PowerGlide chassis mated to a 450-hp Cummins ISL engine designed to appeal to the extended stay RVer. “This is a fine vehicle,” Tiffin told RVBUSINESS.com. “It has the herringbone tile, heated floor, a Ralph Lauren interior, Corian countertops, honey-glazed handmade cabinets, a convection microwave oven, dishwasher, all-electric induction cooktop, a large counter pullout extension, Aqua-Hot heating and full body paint – all the equipment you could ever want on a motorhome. Plus, it’s got all the electronics, including a Mobileye (Collision Avoidance System) that automatically dims your lights in oncoming traffic and warns you if you get out of your designated lane or get too close to the car in front of you.” Tiffin added, “I think it would appeal to what we call the extended stay RVer and somebody that wants a real nice motorhome, you know, with all the bells and whistles and they don’t want to spend $700,000 for something that nice. I think the price on that thing is right on the money at $431,000 MSRP. That’s a very reasonable price for what you get with that unit.”

Tiffin has come a long way over the course of the past few years not only in quality but in expanding the standard equipment list especially in the Phaeton line.

We looked at the new Allegro Bus 45LT and though there is some exceptional qualities for a reasonable price, for our taste (and for other prospective owners we spoke with) we can’t understand why they put so much thought into the floor plan but left out a pantry. They have slide-out pantries in several of their other floor plans. Why did they choose to leave it out in what could arguably be their flagship model?
