The owners of Giant Recreation World plans to move its Ormond Beach outlet about a mile north along the North U.S. Highway 1 corridor to “Destination Daytona,” according to a report by the Daytona Beach News-Journal.
“We’re working on it,” said Larry McNamara, COO for Giant Recreation World, which also operates stores in Winter Garden and Melobourne.
“We would get more exposure and traffic, better visibility out there on the highway,” McNamara said of relocating to “Destination Daytona,” a large complex just west of Interstate 95, north of U.S. 1.
McNamara — who co-owns Giant Recreation World with his father, Don, the company’s CEO — said they hope to complete the move to Destination Daytona by year’s end, upon completion of a 24,000-square-foot building that will include a showroom, offices, storage space and a service center.
