RVDA Seeks Workshop Entries for Convention

Passport-6-transparentThe Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association’s (RVDA) Convention/Expo Committee is soliciting proposals for education workshops for the 2014 RV Dealers International Convention/Expo, offering more than 50 opportunities for presentations between Tuesday and Friday before the top RV retailers in North America.

The Convention/Expo, Nov. 10-14 at Bally’s on the Las Vegas Strip, is the premier education and training event for RV dealers from the U.S. and Canada. This year’s theme is “Passport to Excellence: Education & Training.” Speaking at the Convention/Expo provides an outstanding opportunity to meet face-to-face with a broad cross-section of RV industry professionals.

First-time speakers are especially encouraged to make proposals because dealers come to this event seeking fresh ideas and new perspectives. The deadline for submissions is May 12 and full information on guidelines is available on the RVDA Convention website.

The committee will select presenters offering attendees useful ‘how to’ and actionable information. They are especially interested in workshops that will address inventory management, finding the profit in cash transactions, advanced topics for the service department, customer loyalty, key results areas and metrics, social media and digital marketing, market trends, leadership, succession planning, employee motivation and compliance.

The event is open to a wide spectrum of speakers from within and outside the RV industry. In all cases, the Convention/Expo Committee looks for proven experts, especially those who can attract and engage attendees. To ensure the timeliness, quality and credibility of the program, the committee works to include a number of first-time RVDA presenters and limits workshops from speakers that present year after year. Member surveys confirm that one of the top reasons our members choose to attend the annual convention/expo is the number of workshops with new topics and new speakers.

RVDA will broadly promote speaking engagements RVDA to dealers through e-mail, the RVDA web site, print, telemarketing, social media and other campaigns resulting in broad exposure for the education program including individual speakers and sessions.

This solicitation is for the non-promotional and non-proprietary educational component of the event. The workshops will be Tuesday afternoon through 10:30 a.m. Friday.

RVDA’s Convention/Expo brings together dealers and dealership personnel from across North America. RVDA expects this year’s attendance will include dealer principals and team members from more than 200 dealerships, with total attendance exceeding 1,000.
