A former Forest River Inc. employee has been found guilty of stealing more than $86,000 from the recreational vehicle company, according to the Elkhart, Ind., County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Elkhart Truth reported that Kristian Horn was found guilty after a jury heard from 13 witnesses, three days of evidence and arguments, and deliberating for almost four hours.

The prosecutor’s office charged Horn with theft from his former employer Dec. 29, 2011. An investigation by Forest River and the Elkhart Police Department uncovered a loss of more than $86,000 after thousands of pieces of materials were fraudulently ordered, picked up and sold to customers under Horn’s direction, who was Forest River Premiere Unit’s purchasing agent at the time.

While Horn received between $30,000 and $40,000 in cash from multiple sales, Forest River received nothing but invoices charging the company for the materials that were ordered, according to the prosecutor’s office.

A jury trial was held Wednesday (April 30) to Friday last week in Elkhart Superior Court 5.
