Manufacturer shipments to retailers of all RVs were measured at 33,774 units in April this year, a gain of 5.4% over the same month last year. After a hectic winter where severe weather constrained some deliveries, it appears a semblance of normalcy has returned to the RV market. Consumer confidence rose slightly this month as better weather, higher stock prices and signs of an improving job market lifted Americans’ mood. The Conference Board said its Consumer Confidence Index rose to 83, up from 81.7 in April. It fell in April from 83.9 in March. More than 110,000 campers flocked to Kampgrounds of America (KOA) parks over the Memorial Day Weekend, according to a written announcement from the Billings, Mont.-based company.
