RV Warranty Forever Dealers Seeing Results
“People do come in and say they came to us because of the RV Warranty Forever,” stated Steve Plemmons, president of North Carolina-based Bill Plemmons RV World, in a press release. “Recently, we had a customer drive to North Carolina from New Jersey to look at a $60,000 Winnebago Destination towable solely because of RV Warranty Forever.”
Plemmons added that the dealership’s average selling price had increased since aligning with NWAN.
The RV Warranty Forever program provides basic coverage for RV suspensions, brakes, water systems, heating and air conditioning, kitchen centers, LP gas systems and manual leveling jacks for the life of the RV. The program is marketed by National Automotive Experts (NAE) located in Strongsville, Ohio, and is backed by an “A” rated insurance carrier.
Other dealers comments contained in the release included:
* “It has made a big impact at our new Virginia location and has allowed us to enter the market with the larger I95 dealers and become not only competitive on towable sales, but people have told us they bought from us specifically because we offered the RV Warranty Forever,” said Steve Deffenbaugh, managing partner, Clem’s Trailer Sales.
* “The RV Warranty Forever program has been a great fit for our dealership,” said Christy Kirk, general sales manager of Modern Trailer Sales Inc. in Indiana. “It has allowed us to set our dealership apart in a market where we are competing so closely with other dealers. We feel that it is another positive perk that our sales team and dealership can offer our customers.”
One concern that most dealers have is how the RV Warranty Forever program would affect their F&I departments. “Before we signed on to RV Warranty Forever I was afraid that a lifetime warranty would negatively impact our extended service policy sales,” said Darrin Abel, general manager of RV General Store in Oklahoma. “Over the same period, our extended service policy sales have actually increased by 22% and overall F&I net income has increased 39%.”\
Dealers also reported an increase in service business. “This will provide growth in our service department plus allow for us to better monitor the condition of the customers’ units,” noted Kirk. “With the great administration of the RV Warranty Forever program by NWAN and the follow up they provide, it allows us, the Dealer, to stay in front of the customer as well.
“We are excited to see the impact the program is having on our dealer partners that are on the program,” Vice President of NWAN. “We spent the last few months installing and working with our dealers to ensure the in-store training was complete before adding additional dealers to the program. We have a few territories remaining and are looking for a few good partners to fill those areas.”
