Survey: Indiana No. 6 in Top Business States
Indiana was ranked the sixth-best state for business, according to a recent survey by Chief Executive magazine.
As reported by the Elkhart Truth, 500 CEOs nationwide participated in the 10th annual Best & Worst States for Business Survey. CEOs based their rankings on factors which they believe are important for businesses, such as tax and regulatory measures, the quality of the workforce and the quality of the living environment.
The Hoosier state, home to the RV industry’s manufacturing hub in Elkhart County, earned its ranking because of several tax cuts and the right-to-work law that promote a worker’s right to not be part of a union. Indiana also employed 60,000 workers in more than 2,000 biosciences facilities with concentrations in four of five major sectors in the biotech industry.
