Steven M. LaCluyse, a sales representative for 13 years in the RV industry, died Tuesday (June 3). He was 44.

LaCluyse, who resided in Mishawaka, Ind., spent the majority of his career with Gulf Stream Coach Inc. before joining the Coachmen RV Class C division in 2012.

In an online tribute page, Doug O’Banion, founder and CEO of Motorhome Specialist, offered, “We will miss Steve tremendously! It was more than 10 years ago when we met and we have loved him ever since.”

Matt Gerzeny, owner of RV World of Nokomis, stated, “Steve will be so missed by the industry and especially his friends in Florida!”

The South Bend native was born Sept. 9, 1969 and on Oct. 2, 1993, married Ada Langley in Little Flower Catholic Church in South Bend. LaCluyse was a devoted husband, father, son and friend. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed Notre Dame Football and Mishawaka Football, but especially enjoyed watching his sons and nephews play.

LaCluyse was preceded in death by his brother, David LaCluyse in 2008. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ada M. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Calling is also 1-5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to The LaCluyse Family Education Fund at First Source Bank.

I had the pleasure of knowing Steve for a very long time. He was a tremendous father and husband and was an awesome sales person. He was like by everyone that knew him.

My thoughts go out to his family but they can move forward knowing that Steve loved them all very much as he always put them first. I want to Ada and her family for allowing Steve to be part of Gulf Stream Coach and Nexus RV, he will be greatly missed.
