Campers continue to flock in increasing numbers to Kampgrounds of America (KOA) locations in North America this summer.

Advanced reservations for the upcoming Fourth of July Weekend are up 8%, compared to the same time last year.

“The Fourth of July Weekend has always been a prime indicator of the popularity of camping,” said KOA President Pat Hittmeier. “It’s great to see our strong year continue through this key holiday, and we’re looking forward to providing a wonderful time for tens of thousands of campers next week.”

The July 4th numbers continue the growth curve at KOA. For the year, short-term camper nights are up nearly 4% in 2014 compared to 2013. KOA’s Care Camps Big Weekend in May was up 6.3% in camper nights, and Memorial Day Weekend reservations were up 3.2%. Labor Day advanced reservations show a nearly 20% increase in camper nights compared to the same time last year.
